The boy started looking around for something to shove against the wall to reinforce it.

There was plenty of wood laying around from the collapsed roof. The blond girl helped out, hacking a few chunks loose from the mess as most of it was still nailed together, despite being caved-in.

The asian girl woke up. She hadn't intended to doze off, but apparently she had anyway. What little light had been spilling into the cave was gone, she was in complete darkness.
"Well, shit..." She whispered, rising to her feet.
Keeping a hand on the wall so she wouldn't lose her way, the girl slowly walked back in the direction she remembered the cave entrance to be. As she turned the corner, she saw the opening, and could make out some shapes of rocks and trees in the moonlight. She kept walking till she heard a distant growling sound coming from outside.
    "Double shit..."
She took a few steps backwards into the cave again, only to hear two much closer growling sounds... right behind her...
    She froze for a second.
Then she bolted out of the cave.
    "Shit shit shit..."

She made it about fifty feet or so out of the cave before running head-on into someone else, knocking them to the ground as well as her. She scrambled back to her feet as fast as she could - it was hard to tell, but the person on the ground looked human, and looked like a man.
"Oh God... you okay? Who are you?"
Without thinking about it, she reached towards him to help him up. He grabbed her by the wrist. His hand felt icy cold and slimy to the touch. He lurched upwards with a groan, trying to sit
    "Ouch, you're- oh, QUADRUPLE SHIT!"
He - or rather, it - was throwing it's head at her, snapping its jaw up and down, trying to bite at her neck and arm. She yanked back as hard as she could, but he was holding on too tight, and she just fell on her back, pulling the dead humanoid thing down partially on top of her. She just barely grabbed him by the throat in time, his teeth just inches from her nose. It was snarling and snapping and biting and thrashing, and she felt slime dripping from its face and mouth, landing on hers. It was at this point that she realized that she'd dropped her hammer at some point - probably when they'd run into each other.
Letting go with her left hand, keeping her right on the thing's throat, just barely keeping it at bay. She felt around the ground beside her in the dark, trying to grab... anything... she didn't find the hammer, but she did find a large rock, which she heaved into the side of the thing's slimy head.
There was a disgusting crunch sound, and it fell off of her, landing to her side. She tried to sit up and move away, but it was still clinging to her wrist. It snarled a very liquidy sounding snarl, and feebly tried to grab at her again. She shifted as much as she could while frantically scanning the ground for her hammer. Finally she found it, grabbed it, and hit the man in the hand three times with it, crunching and smashing his skull and sending his brain every which-a-way.

The asian girl sat in the dark for a while, hyperventilating and shaking. She probably had blood and brain and God-knows what else on her right now. Perhaps the darkness was a good thing. She sat there until she heard more growling and saw silhouettes shuffling towards her.
"Shit on shit and more shit..." She started to stand up, only to find that the slimy hand had a quite literal death-grip around her wrist. "...shit."
One by one, she folded the crunchy stiff fingers back until she could slip her arm free, then she took off running and didn't stop.

The three got virtually no sleep that night, spending the whole time trying to keep zombies away from their make-shift fort. They tried taking shifts sleeping/guarding, but it was hard to sleep knowing that there were hungry undead outside...

The next morning...

The blond girl was leaning against the wall, half-dozed off, hands still griping her axe.

The boy swung the hammer slowly back and forth tiredly from its newly acquired handle. There was no glue or anything holding the stick in but it was pretty tight.
After a few minutes he broke the silence. "I haven't heard anything in a while."

"Might be the sun sc... *yawn* scaring them away." the blond girl replied, noting the first few rays of sunlight shining through the holes in the building's walls.

The raven haired girl was curled up in a corner, looking a little beat up but otherwise sound asleep.

The blond girl fell asleep for a couple hours, then eventually stirred awake and got up. Whether the other two had moved from their previous positions was up to their respective authors.

The boy had stayed awake simply because everyone else was sleeping. He spent the time trying to repair the cabin, but didn't get very far because he was trying to do so quietly as to not wake the others. Still, it had a couple fewer holes in the walls by the time either of the girls woke up.
